Shaun Pollock didn't bowl 140+, but he was quite effective, PK is a pretty decent bowler, don't care if he has less pace as long as he is taking wickets, he can swing it both ways with a lot of accuracy and can bowl long spells.
The prob is PK is no Pollock as he could do a lot more .... I don't think PK will be that successful outside of eng type of conditions .... Yes, he can bowl long spells just like a spinner would or even dry runs but you want 2nd or 3rd seamer to offer a lot more (already discussed) .... I can't imagine a test bowler who has to put a lot of effort to just bowl 135 ( which I don't even think he has touched, probably 130) can't reverse the ball or bowl effective bouncers

But yeah would like to be proven wrong by PK .... If he does well, it ll only help ind

He averages 23 in Indian domestic cricket and strikes at 50.

Awesome. Big fan of Warner so if (when?) he flays our attack I will still enjoy it nevertheless.

Five wickets a game though and he was bowling a ridiculous amount of overs. I actually saw the series and thought he was absolute quality considering he was acting as the main attacking bowler, the only containing bowler and the only stock bowler..
I actually watched it as well. Was very good but made to look better by the crap surrounding him.

Warner is a leftie isn't he? Zaheer Khan might keep him quiet in the series if he stays fit.

The batting is obviously the area which needs immediate attention, but I really hope we don't stick with Starc for India.

There's plenty to like about his bowling and every chance he'll develop into a test-standard performer down the track, but right now he just doesn't get the ball in the right spots often enough or build any pressure. Given the strength of the Indian batting and the flatter decks we'll be encountering, at least in Sydney and Adelaide, they can't afford to carry him, especially if there are doubts over Watson's fitness. I think even Hilf would be a better pick tbh, at least he's capable of bowling to a plan.

For Melbourne -

Warner
Khawaja
Marsh (Cowan to come in and open if he's not fit)
Watson (Ponting stays if he's not fit, due to lack of alternatives)
Clarke
Hussey (on notice)
Haddin (I'd probably punt him but they won't after his 80 in Brisbane)
Siddle
Pattinson
Harris/Bollinger/Hilf/even Hazlewood...anyone but Starc
Lyon
