Nice stuff from Haigh
It found in Chris Martin a stern interrogator, chock full of fight, and operating at velocities and in areas ideal for the conditions. As at Brisbane, he warmed up with his team, moved on to further solo warm-ups, and remained on the ground through much of the intermissions bowling into a catcher’s mitt, perhaps as a precaution against stiffness, perhaps out of a compulsion; heaven knows he might sleepbowl, such is his fitness. His high-stepping run pushed along by piston-like arms recalls an industrial revolution steam engine; you can almost imagine him oiling and greasing his joints.

After one stumbling heave-ho, the firm-footed Warner nicked off. The slim, studious Khawaja then became so engrossed in holding Martin at bay as to lose all animation, recalling Douglas Jardine’s comment about batting against Bill O’Reilly: ‘I’ve cut out all the shots that could get me out, and now I have none left.’ He finally nicked off too.

Would absolutely love for it to piss down with rain for the next session and overnight. We need to spice this pitch up somehow, because we're in trouble otherwise.

If New Zealand bowl well enough they don't need anymore assistance from the pitch. Ball was swinging very late before lunch but the line was all wrong.

I won't feel comfortable until this game is won. Wickets have fallen in quick succession throughout this game and 6-7 wickets in a session is still possible.

Healy has always been a rubbish commentator. He's as biased as hell and talks banal rubbish.

And talking about criticising posts as dire.

Sometimes the truth hurts!

And if we're talking about Hughes, he'll always struggle until his technique is sorted. It's not good enough to make a score every so often, and especially when he's about to be dropped. The middle-order has to have confidence that there are openers who can regularly take the shine off the ball, even if they're not scoring at a reckless speed.

Interesting about Hughes and reviews, in SA during his twin tons, he was out several times caught down the leg-side but Boucher urged them not to review.

I find it hard to believe that you know the definition of the word itbt.

Find me one person who doesn't like Steve Waugh and I will punch them in the mouth.
Chappelli dislikes him with a passion and there are also Aussie fans who thought he was a selfish red inker who 'hid' down at #5 and 6 for nearly all of his career.

A) I know Chappell dislikes him. That's my point, I want to punch him in the mouth.
B) I have never heard one Australian fan who has ever said that.

Not sure of your agenda in this thread.
Was wondering if there is something about his stance or the way he plays that makes the cordon think he didn't feather it when he did. There was also one in the latest SA/oz test that they didn't review he hit as well.

True that.

Weather has saved NZ from going by 10 wickets tonight. Had pretty much the worst day possible. So disappointing.

I've heard many, especially talkback callers. Some believe he can never be called a great because he didn't go in when the ball was new and the bowlers fresh after failing a few times at #3. There are some who said they were frustrated that he used to expose the tail in order to chase the red ink. There are also others who argue that he spawned a generation of 'ugly Aussies' with his policy of mental disintergration. After all opposition players said he was a master sledger. That behaviour is not everyone's cup of tea.
