***Official*** New Zealand in Australia 2011

Just have a feeling that Australia will canter this.
Yep. It was their morning. They'll back themselves to get this total easily and they probably will.

Early wickets are key for NZ. Need to put some pressure on the Aus middle order.

Australia thrive on having a good start from their openers. Need to make early inroads. This is not an anti jinx but surely Hughes is due now. He can't possibly be caught in the slips again.

Just as an aside, has NZ got a decent enough keeper who can score some runs? It seems to me that both NZ and SA have oldish keepers not making runs when their long tail needs shepherding.

Utter bollocks. Bracewell's shot - especially after having got past the early part of his innings was an utter disgrace. Southee, well I've had enough of people saying, "It's okay, it's his natural game." You don't attempt to slog every ****ing ball. He's already taken 10 runs from the first two balls of the Lyon over - see it out and Clarke'd be questioning whether to keep Lyon on FFS. Brainless stuff.
I'd agree with you if they had a set batsman at the other end, but when it's just the tail, best to be positive. I'll happily take Southee's 13 off 5 & Boult's 21 off 13 when it looked like we could get bowled out for 180

AWTA, had had enough of the meek prodding we'd seen previously.

You're a number 9, you're ****, but you still have a brain. 2 balls ago you barely cleared Michael Hussey on the long-on boundary. 1 ball ago you perfectly creamed the ball into the vacant mid-off area.

Now why the **** would you aim to go over long-on next ball?!

Have you ever batted number 9? It's just what you do when you get on a roll as a tailender.

The new ball was due in a couple of overs. I'd take 34 off 3 overs, tbh.

What's the point of shepherding the strike for 12 overs at 2-3 per over. If they tried that they would have probably been all out for less, just in more overs.

I doubt it will matter.

No, but i've seen many number 9s play many ridiculous shots.

Tim Southee is a professional cricketer though. All the more frustrating because he clearly has a decent eye.

Yeah, but his defensive technique is ****, no way to fix that mid game. He shouldn't have tried to clear long-on again though, everyone agrees on that.

Nope, the keeping depth is terrible in New Zealand. Bunch of old timers with zero chance of ever being decent international players running around at the moment.

Both Southee and Boult seemed to have a pretty good eye. They didnt miss much that was full. Even off Siddle who most of the other batsmen havent been able to touch.

Theyre young, With a bit of practice, application and trust in their fellow tailenders and their own ability, they might be good for 30+ like Vettori.

All you ****tard young Aussie supporters with the ****s about how the team is now, switch on the TV. I had to live through watching that team play.

You wonder why a bloke gets bitter.
