Didn't stop the whole of the NSW media going overboard twelve months ago when he'd played far fewer tests, and then getting even more excited at the end of day one having hit a scratchy 30.
There was a lot of hype, but how is that suprising? When Hughes first came on the scene, the same media were making comparisons with Bradman.

Khawaja is yet to play enough matches to even begin to settle into his natural game. Unless they are looking absolutely rank amateur, you have to give a player at enough time for them to make at least one substantial score before you can say they "don"t have what it takes" or some other nonsense.

He has played 5 tests ffs.
And what's he shown? That he can occupy the crease for a long period without putting any tempo pressure on a side under any conditions? Jesus Christ mate, he's meant to be a top order player for
Australia, not the ******** kid in my under 11 side who has done well surviving a few overs. Fmd just because he has a nice back lift everyone sees him as the answer to our top order problems. If he's the answer Australian cricket is cactus. Such low expectations. Do something ffs.

Colour me stupid, I'd like someone in the top three who can hit a ball off the square.

I agree generally with those sentiments, but its shocking how some of the Australian youngsters can't play basic cricket shots.

Bowling a similar speed to Southee mid to late 130's atm.

Looked a bit like Marcus North in that picture did Bracewell.
