We didn't know it wasa green top at work. So when word went around we were 60-5 or whatever we were - there was just general dismay. And here we go again comments.

People actually care about the cricket still - but we have to turn it around soon.

Welcome back Windie. As you might imagine, since you've been banned several times now, posting snark in your first two posts in this thread will ensure we will be keeping a keen eye on you.

Enjoy the cricket.:)
And

Welcome back windie - you have been missed.
Thanks for the welcome guys!!..i'll try my best to behave this time, last ban was a little petty imo but i guess the past is the past, just here to talk about cricket and provide a WI point of view from time to time which has been sadly lacking since me and others departed .

Not with the double "B's" aka Brathwaite and Barath about mate!! :D .
Both of whom have worse records than Hughes. :) Right to bag Hughes as he isn't Aus quality at the moment but warts and all, he would walk into the West Indian side, Bangla, NZ, Zim, Pak and Sri Lanka sides.

Not to take this thread off track but he's only got a better record because he's played more games, his technique doesn't stand up to the double "B's" which is why they scored runs in India and Hughes is struggling against NZ at home, but everyone has their own views i guess.

A few of those are debatable but in particular I think Pakistan would be reluctant to take him. Their opening partnership is working pretty well at the moment.

But yeah, there's no way the Windies wouldn't have him.

I don't think he would 'walk' in to the NZ team, actually. Sure, our openers haven't done well, but Hughes has been abject so far in this series

Hughes is Australia's Sinclair, so I reckon we would have a love affair with him (I want you, no I don't want you, I want you, no..). Hopefully he can turn it around.

As if he isn't better than Guptill. Yes Hughes hasn't been good at this level, but people seem to forget that he can actually play pretty good at times. And his FC record is still a lot better than him.

He probably wouldn't walk into Pakistan though.

Comparing their FC records is a futile exercise. Completely different wickets, bowling attacks etc. At least Guptill gets out in more interesting ways than edging to the slips. Martin's been all over him so far this series and right now, I'd take Guptill not Hughes. Aussies should have dropped him.

How predictable, glad I went to bed. No contest which is a shame, saw highlights and ball is doing a lot so NZ can still get back in this but unlikely. Pattinson and Brownlie did very well, both have made excellent starts to their careers. As for Hughes, oh dear.

Your analysis of the game is not a strong point Morgieb. Who gives a **** what his output is at first class level if his Test performances over a decent Test career are on par with Guptill and many other international openers.

When I was 11 I owned a pet goldfish named Wayne. Wayne was alot more intelligent than Ian Healy. The grave injustice in the world is that Wayne died after a couple of weeks due to overeating, yet Ian Healy survives and manages to forge a career for himself on television.
Highlight of the day.

Brownlie looks a very impressive player tbh. Good temperament and compact off the back foot.

Looks a prospect for the Kiwis. Hope he kicks on.
