Don't forget the 33 with the bat too......Any interest for a left-arm tweaker showing some form over the weekend?
Carl Tietjens and Tom Thornton both locals so there's that.
kick them out please
I think Berry sees his role as one of improving cricket in South Australia, rather than improving the standard of cricket South Australia play. Whether or not he lasts in the role will depend on if the board shares his vision because, from the looks of things anyway, there's going to be a lot of losing associated with that.Carl Tietjens and Tom Thornton both locals so there's that.
As I said at the time he said all that, Berry's intentions to play local talent, force the Red-dakks out to grade training, etc. are all very noble but winning, when the rubber meets the road, is the only game in town. If the locals aren't producing the sorts of players who will win Shield games, well, he has to look elsewhere if he wants to keep his job.
The board shares the vision insofar as it won't make them look bad because they're hyper-political ****s (seriously, how else do you explain Adcock as captain?). SA cricket needs an enema from from the heads of grade clubs to the (ball)SACA. As long as the players don't embarrass them publicly/accidentally insult their honour, how the team does is irrelevant. Well, sorta; as long as how they lose doesn't look bad politically.I think Berry sees his role as one of improving cricket in South Australia, rather than improving the standard of cricket South Australia play. Yeah, I call them 'local' if they learned their cricket here.Anyway, isn't Thornton from Canberra? Born in Canberra, played for the ACT for years, etc etc. Did he move to Adelaide as a kid, learn his cricket there and then move back to Canberra to play for the Comets or something?
Yeah that's fair enough. I just thought he'd spent the entire time in Canberra for some reason.Yeah, I call them 'local' if they learned their cricket here.
Pfft, they've done NSW, moving further south these days.SACA seem to have a pretty decent relationship with the Comets in general. Trying to expand their local catchment?
Has only lived in Adelaide for 2 summers before this one, other than that spent all time in Canberra. Tuggerenong CC if I recall correctly.Yeah that's fair enough. I just thought he'd spent the entire time in Canberra for some reason.
Yeah split webbing. He'll be out for a while. Is O'Keefe injured?
