No. That's why I'd change the rules to make it a straight red regardless.

Actually I'd make it a straight red when a player does something like that to stop a promising break on the halfway line. When players decide the current punishment makes breaking the rules worth it, you need a harsher punishment. It should have been sorted out years ago.
