*Official* English Football Season 2011-12

:(

Tbf, neither of them are defensive midfielders, but I get the gist.

Spearing should be servicable in that role, but we might need to spend in the window. Have recalled Shelvey too.
I reckon Meireles could easily have been transformed into a DM if necessary. Incredibly underrated defensively. Statistically a better holding midfielder than Essien last season.

Yes, but whilst being a combative and ball-winning player, I don't think it's really appropriate to call Essien a holding midfielder, so this isn't a particularly useful analogy.

Round of applause for Speed when the clock ticked round to 11 minutes in the Geordie/Chav dust up. Nice touch.

Ooops. Pen as I type.

EDIT: Great save from Krul. Tips it onto the post.

Luiz's & Terry's Abbott & Costello tribute act gets funnier and funnier.

How is Alex not better than both? Not injured, is he?

Captain Racist hitting the ball against Sideshow Shyte's face and into the net there would have made my week.

Typical Prem game. End to end, lots of chances, comedy defending.

Krul's kept the Geordies in it so far. Having a hell of a game.

Lol. Pardew in the ref's changing room "discussing" the Luiz (non-)sending off.

Meanwhile in the Sky studio David Ginola looking & sounding very pleased he's David Ginola. Seems to now have a lot less grey hair than he was sporting before.

Just sayin'.
