bird decided OD cricket isn't good enough for him. an astute decision imo
Bird also decided playing Sydney Grade Cricket wasn't good enough for him despite the fact that playing for Tasmania was, so I'm not a big wrap on his priorities itbt.

Not the greatest limited forms bowler when he was younger.

EDIT: not that he's that bad, just much better suited to the longer forms of the game.

I wouldn't have expected him to be a good one day bowler based on what I'd seen before either but he was getting through a bit quicker than what I'd seen/been told in the Shield; I'd have more confidence in his ability to do it now.

That said, it's not like Laughlin is a crap one day bowler.

Yep, the only good thing about Steve Smith playing for Australia A is that Patterson has gotten an opportunity.

Yes I taped my first cricket when i was 5. It was kind of an accident, but still happened!!!!

Actually, i must have been wrong about that Shield match i went to, because i had finished school in 94, i guess it was a different Vic V SA match i went to in 94, but i did go to that 96 match too, Ive seen about 5 Vic v SA matches at the MCG, they all get blurred after so many years. I recall one match I went to in the 90's where Harvey just ran through SA in the morning with the ball, no idea what year it was, late 90's i guess.
