Far be it from me to assume anything on the SACA website is correct/up-to-date/makes any sense but I just had a look and they say he's from Melbs:

Redbacks - Players - Player profiles

I remember reading it somewhere. Like I said, appropriate caveats, it's SACA, could be wrong (surprised they've spelled the names correctly, tbh), etc.

1990

After playing just four games for a mediocre return in his debut year, Carey burst onto the scene in 1990 as a goal kicking Centre Half Forward and perfect support to Full Forward and fellow New South Welshman, John Longmire (who was that year's Coleman Medallist as the league's leading goal kicker). Carey immediately drew the attention of the football world and built a reputation early in his career as an aggressive, big marking and long kicking key position player. That year, Carey would represent New South Wales in State of Origin football and finish the 1990 season as runner up in North Melbourne's best and fairest, behind Longmire. In round 13, a then 19 year old Carey took 8 marks, had 22 disposals and kicked 7 goals in a big win over Sydney. It was the first of many times Carey would dominate up forward for North. In 21 games in 1990 Carey averaged 5 marks, 14 disposals and 1.8 goals

WADE.

WADE.

His technique is better than anyone from NSW tbh. Quality. Just pencil him in for the summer, why wait.

Callum and Finch are two guys who have had dismal starts to the season, but at least Ferg got the Ryobi ton. Still wouldn't have him anywhere near the test team, which is crazy, always like his smooth batting. Looking forward to Liam Davis tearing the Vics up Ryan Campbell style in a few hours......

part of the reason I'm happy to see him fail is because it means he's more or less got no case re the aus a team. so it's a test to see whether the new guys are good or not. after this match he can score runs again if he wants
