I swear we must stop picking people named Tharanga.
Haven't watched this innings, but how many swing and misses + edges to 3rd man has he had so far? He has faced 100+ balls so must be around 50 if he is in form.

Hoping we lose badly tbh, can't stand this chicken **** attitude of this team.

What do people think of Pakistan's bowling unit for the ODI's?

I think it's one of the best in the world at the moment. We have a lot of variety going for us. A really good Off-spin and Leg-spin combo in the form of Ajmal and Afridi. Part timer Hafeez wo can get wickets. Gul, who is bowling beautifully at the moment and is a very good ODI bowler (has good seam and swing movement and can reverse at a very quick pace). I am also impressed with Cheema who is really good in the death overs and is pacey but can be substituted for Junaid for variety and Wahab for pace. To finish off we also have Razzaq with his cutters. :)

Yeah, it's pretty good. I think it'd be a lot better balanced if Ajmal was an opening bowler of the same quality though. Gul and Cheema aren't really new ball bowlers three spinners will be hard to juggle in most conditions. I'd definitely look to go pretty hard against Pakistan in the first 10-15 overs.

I think the spin attack is excellent with Afridi in there, it's a nightmare to try and get started against. The pace attack is less clear, I don't really rate Cheema all that highly, he's yet to impress me (though I'm excited for Junaid). Gul is top class in one day cricket but for when he has to take the new ball, when he tends to be just okay. Razzaq can't really be relied on as a bowler anymore beyond more than few overs, so it's fortunate that you have Hafeez and Afridi to cover.

It's certainly among the best in the world at the moment, but mostly because everyone has problems. South Africa could claim it, but they keep picking Botha and Parnell, thanks to being short of allrounders.

50 and out for Mahela. Looks like Pakistan will keep them to less than 130, and so a fairly straightforward chase.

Wonder what Jayawardene could've done today if he didn't have to wait until the 27th over to bat.

170/3 after 40 overs seems alright to me. Far from ideal but they could well put up a good score.
its the same old story, SL never have the fire power to smash their way through the last 10 overs. The lower/middle order at best can only do 7RR in the last 10.
Today in the last 10 with 2 set batsmen and 7 wickets in hand, only 64 runs were scored.

Having Tharanga/ Sanga waste PP overs to set up a platform is pointless, and has been for the last 7 years.

When the bowling attack was Vaas, Murali and Malinga this was well hidden...
