Would prefer him coaching batsmen who have a chance tbh.:p

Not sure where that would be actually. Apart from Broom and Flynn, most of the big name batsmen aren't likely to play for NZ again. He could go to Wellington I guess and help out Murdoch and Pollard. Pollard definitely has some goods. I'll wait until someone who isn't Athlai watches Murdoch before getting my hopes up.:p

Haha, not as bad as Hamilton. No one wishes that on anyone.

He's been in discussions to join a rival club and leave Cornwall. Was told he probably wouldn't play premier cricket before Xmas, so wants out.

Did he play today how did he go?

Out for the same score he was on overnight (15). Caught (I think) 2nd over of the day.

A day after saying on radio that 2nd grade wasn't testing enough and he was keen to pit himself against bowlers at a higher level. Uh...oh...

Crowe is starting to both excite me and annoy me. Him getting out and about on the club and first class scene, watching lots of games etc will be good for getting a fair assessment of what the game is like. Crowe is impulsive with his opinions and has a huge ego, but he knows the game. He was a fantastic captain and he helped Ross Taylor go from an ODI only batsman to a true blue test batsman.

In saying that, his petulance over playing seconds is annoying.

Seriously, the bloke needs to be used by NZC in some kind of official capacity on the domestic scene. Maybe force a few blokes to train under his eye all summer and all winter.

Considering how puss they handled Allan Donald and Bondgate though, it's not gonna happen.

He has every right to think he is too good to play in the 2nds. The man was on the Lord's honours board twice.

It was also bull**** when they made Sonny Bill try out in the Cantabs 2nd team because they weren't sure if he was any good.

I also think Crowe will find it easier to bat against better bowlers because they will be more predictable.

Finally you can get out in any level of cricket - didn't Chris Gayle get out to usain Bolt in some charity match. I think Crowe is better off not risking his reputation in a lower grade of cricket. If he is going to fail let him fail in premier grade cricket.

Lol, no. He has to start from scratch just as every other player in New Zealand has done, simple as that.
