It's about 100x more exciting watching seamers dominate so I'm not really complaining
Not getting into the pitches thingy, but its equally exciting to watch a spinner bowling to a batsman under pressure with 6 fielders around him.

wait till the end of the match and you will have your proof.

Of course, I wil GLADLY take back what I said if they do report it. But, till then, previous form shows ICC won't do anything about it and a few guys will talk about how such pitches make cricket interesting now and then.

Again, nothing wrong with any of that except that the same somehow does not apparently apply the moment they see a wicket helping spinners.
Lots of wickets != bad pitch. The pitch is meh. The bowling is good.

I don't see an issue with the pitch, I don't see why you do.

It's exciting, but just nowhere close. My opinion of course, some may prefer it the other way around.

tbf he doesn't have an issue with this pitch, he has an issue with the hypothetical consistency across which the rule is applied.

Í 'don't. My point is that the same does not seem to apply when they encounter a pitch that actually helps spinners get wickets without being anything near unplayable.

honestbharani... You are completely wrong here about the pitches. In this match, there is clearly NOTHING wrong with the pitch. Australia played trash. South Africa showing the pitch has nothing wrong with it.

You should start a new thread about the pitches thing if you want to.

To me, nothing beats the thrill of watching an opposition batsman having to face the music with spinners from both ends, a HUGELY vocal crowd and a pitch that actually offers something for the said spinners. The 2001 series comes to mind and so does the 2004 game in Chennai, when after a huge partnership between Martyn and Gillespie, Australia suddenly ran into our spinners coming into form and they had their tails up. Watching it live, those are experiences that rival what any batsman can produce.

Get excited seeing the South Africans bowled out for under 100... Then we have to top them with an under 50 score... with the biggest partnership being the last wicket... application!

To be fair, spinners rely on the pitch more than seamers. The ICC can't really report something for being 'incredibly overcast' as has been the case often when pacemen dominate. I think the spin friendly pitches are fine, just some of them are pretty heinous and designed to suit three pronged spin attacks, which shouldn't happen.
