***Official*** Australia in South Africa

Woodster

International Captain
Siddle finally goes, excellent partnership that, will make Australia feel much better about the innings. When five of the top seven fail to get double figures, you've got to be pretty happy, especially on this pitch, that you've got a shout of getting near 300.

Clarke has to go on the absolute attack now.

Good, timely wicket. About 50 balls too late, but a very important job by Sids to frustrate the opposition. From memeory, Lyon didn't look the worst in Sri Lanka.

Tahir needs the final wicket for some confidence. It hasn't been the greatest 1st innings with the ball or in the field.

I can make anyone leave their crease, buddy.

Doesn't usually end well for me if they can actually bat once they do, though...
Fair enough! Almost all top order and middle order club batsmen in the subcontinent employ the sweep shot a lot. Myself included. So, unless it's really up there and you're batting on 60-odd, don't really need to leave the crease.

Of course, then there are the wristy freaks (I seriously envy them) that you'd rather wish would never leave the crease when you're bowling spin. :p Agree about the tailenders though!

If the ball continues to swing I might just back Aussie to win this. If Johnson has a gun spell, Australia will probably win.
