More Reasons to Love Jacques Kallis

"If Test cricket is being compromised in any way, then I am dead against it.

"Everything comes from Test cricket, all the other formats of the game and the reputations that players gain, it all comes from playing - or aspiring to play - Test cricket.

"We know that as players."

Weather is set fair gents

bring it
Have booked the first two days of the Test off work, couldn't get Friday, dam!

Hoping that the first day isn't interrupted too much by showers in the afternoon, will hopefully miss Newlands.

Really looking forward to this battle, and trying to forget it is only two Tests long!

So, thoughts on bowling attack? There's been a ton of press about Cummins so he must be in with a big shout but I strongly suspect they'll go with Siddle. Experienced, good record against the Saffers, gets up their noses a bit, runs big hearts in all day, etc.

There is, however, a possibility they'll plump for Johnson/Siddle/Cummins and drop Copeland. Bit torn on whether to go with that, one wonders whether going full macho pace attack would play right into the hands of the way the Saffers play their game and whether having at least one mild bowler to clam up Kallis, et al would work better. Probably depends on the conditions more than anything. If the deck is hard and the conditions hot/calm, would think they'd go with the former option.

Forgetting Harris?

Pretty confident that it'll be Johnson/Harris/Siddle/Lyon..

Expecting him to be injured dropping his coffin in the tour bus.

(okay, for some reason I thought he wasn't fit).

Harris/Johnson/Siddle then.

Hope they stick with Copeland tbh. But I suspect they won't. What we really need is Sid charging in and really testing de Villiers' injured hand, don't we, on a slowish wicket?

Recipe for a shambles.
