Who is a better option for India at No. 6 for the WI series?

Rampaul is averaging 23.7 this year. In the same series that Roach averaged 44 (against Pakistan), Rampaul averaged 20.

Samuels' ban wasn't lifted somewhere in the middle of the India series iirc and regardless, he's a not a very good bowler. Bishoo also did very well against India, had an average of 25 or so.
I'm not sure how he did it, well he probably hit the gym, but Rampaul has been very good since the world cup when he randomly picked up a 5er. There's no way Samuels should be on solo spin duty either

Picking as batsman who bowls part time spin as your frontline spinner for a tour of India is just a woeful idea.

Wasn't necessarily talking about India.

I think my main point is that I think Roach has the potential to be the WIndies's best bowler since Ambrose/Walsh. And for that matter, he should be picked.

I think you just vastly over-rate him tbh.

I don't think anyone should deny that Roach has the raw materials to be the best West Indian fast bowler since Ambrose, but he has certainly lost the plot recently. His pace is down and he has lost that amazing inswinger which bowled down a number of batsmen when he first came on the scene.

It's peculiar, but Otis Gibson has overseen a dramatic improvement in Ravi Rampaul and the complete regression of Roach. I certainly wouldn't have predicted that a couple of years ago.

Also, I completely disagree with anyone who thinks Bishoo should not be an automatic starter when fit in any Windies test xi anywhere in the world. He is our best spinner since Ramnarine and decent leggies can completely transform a bowling attack.

I really think Roach has a lot less tools than Taylor and is pretty comparable to having the potential skillset of the Edwards of today (which don't get me wrong is a quality bowler).

Tipping the Windies to win this IF at least two of Edwards/Taylor/Rampaul plays.
The Windies will have a random batting collapse unfortunately.

Reckon the problems with Roach are in his head. Gone off the rails the whole year

Are Roach and Edwards similar bowlers?

I also really want to see Taylor back in action, though I'm not sure where he'll fit in given that all the bowlers are currently doing a good job.

Don't think there's a place for him until Sammy goes tbh.

I think we'll see Rampaul, Edwards, Bishoo and Sammy as the bowlers.

Simmons is a surprisingly ****ty test batsmen despite his above average recent one day run of form.

Have to say horrible scheduling by BCCI, the first test starts on Sun, second test on Mon, and third test on Tue. How the hell can working people attend these test matches? A working person can only spare weekends to watch cricket match.

Kohli Vs. Yuvraj - WI in India

Who do you think should be in the middle order? Kohli definitely deserves a chance with his recent performances. Yuvi is more experienced and on home turf - can be a formidable batsman and tricky spinner to face too.

My preference is just maybe towards Kohli - I think he'll make it into the test team eventually, so good time to blood him in properly in a home series against a not too threatening looking WI team.

Yuvraj, though I would be tempted to play Kohli.

Don't mind him playing in Australia even if he averages 30-35 there, provided he does well here. His bowling might be handy as well. Kohli's also got problems against the short ball which I imagine might be a problem against both the WI and Aus, so I'd pick the guy with more experience.
