Dennis Lillee - Did he swing the ball?

hang on

State Vice-Captain
remember reading on here or perhaps in the guardian below the line bit about lillee even now being able to pull the birds. anecdote about this 20 something bloke going to a bar with his group of friends which included some attractive girls, who did not know anything about cricket (i know, one has to now beging to wonder about the attractive part). and lillee was there and ended up going home with two of the birds. a couple of years ago or so.

would the owner - if on this site - of this mangled anecdote please step forward and elucidate.

I recall that too. But I think it's best not reiterated

Says me. I saw him bowl.

Says nearly everyone who's ever watched a clip of him bowl.

You think he took 355 test wickets in 70 tests not moving the ball? Yeah, that happened
lol dude....calm down. When did I say that he couldn't swing the ball? :p

Shocking. :-O I always thought he was one of those committed-for-life men!

But maybe those two women just had a cuppa tea with Uncle Lillee, discussed the finer points of fast bowling and returned home.

I think we already established in this thread that Lillee did swing the ball. Maybe did not use it as much as he could, but there's little to zero doubt that his repertoire was complete.

The only reason this question was raised was because of a Bob Simpson article which poisoned Bagapath's mind. After reading from two forumers who faced/saw Lillee in his pomp, there should not be any room for doubt.

Fair to guess that the next time Simpson and Bagapth cross paths, one man would be going home with a swollen eye!
