Very early to be complaining about the run-rate, especially considering Sri Lanka have bowled well. So long as they take the lead by the end of the day then they're doing more than fine. Keeping wickets in hand is far more important this early in a Test match.

With respect to "learning from their mistakes" - it was the dropped catches that cost them the previous match, not piling up 500 odd. It may come as a shock, but scoring loads of runs is actually a really helpful thing to do.

Misbah seems to hit quite a few Test sixes. Strange that he has so few scoring shots and that's one of them.

Edit: Since his return to Tests, he's hit nine sixes, with only Kallis and ABDV (both 12) hitting more and with Gayle and Hussey both hitting nine each as well. He's hit more Tests sixes in that time than any of Sehwag, Tendulkar, KP, Ryder, Umar Akmal or Dilshan.

Yeah. He's very much block or slog. He's actually got quite a range of scoring shots but the worked single off a good ball isn't one of them, which is why he can get so tied down at times.

Spot on! Block or hit player. Pretty much like Azhar Ali in that sense, but a superior six-hitter.

And taking advantage of the poor ones (like that one) is very important.

Even defensive batting can be positive and as a new ball bowler, that is the most demoralising. When they are prepared to defend/leave all the good ones and stroke away the slightly off-line/off-length balls.
