I am impressed by McDermott Jr. Hardly played a poor game in his career and is unfortunate that he must compete with so many other pace bowlers in Queensland. I hope Queensland give him a proper run this season.
Would love him to have an extra half a foot in height, though. :(

Blues scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Hughes, Khawaja, Warner, Clarke, Smith, Cummins, Bollinger, Copeland, Haddin, and Watson are in SA

Jaques, Hauritz and Casson unavailable due to injury.

Cupboard's looking pretty bare, so Cruikshank gets his 2nd Shield game and Scott Henry his debut. Hazelwood also comes into the side.

Stephen O’Keefe ( Captain )
Sean Abbott
Tim Cruickshank
Josh Hazlewood
Moises Henriques
Scott Henry
Simon Katich
Josh Lalor
Nicolas Maddinson
Peter Nevill
Ben Rohrer
Mitchell Starc

Imagine they might push Kat back up to open Cruikshank at 3 Rohrer 4 Henry 5. Something like:

Katich
Maddinson
Cruikshank
Rohrer
Henry
Henriques
Nevil
O'Keefe (c)
Abbott (or Lalor)
Starc
Hazelwood

Not confident, but there are enough class players to give me a little hope.

3 for now! Putland swinging it, looking dangerous. And thank god Hodge has finished his commentary stint, gives Jayasuriya a run for his money.

Why do captains agree to be miked up. I mean Bailey is bowling his first over in a long time and his captain is talking to Blewy and Junior.

Dan Christian and James Faulkner have to be given an opportunity in the Australian Limited Overs setup soon.
