LOL @somerset
LOL @your baiting attempts.

So we have the predicted IPL filled final, making the sponsors and organisers very happy, I'm sure. Suffice to say I no longer give a poo who wins it from here - evil has prevailed.

I don't like the IPL teams as well. But i can always watch more of malinga.

Yes Buttler's not been great, but if I could pick one format/tournament for him to perform below standard at it would be this one.

Compton's choice of the paddle shot was a bad choice. With malinga's trajectory & late swing that shot is almost suicide.

Now i want malinga to clean up royal challengers.

Any shot where you're looking for a boundary off Malinga in that mood becomes a high-risk option. It is a shot that Compton is highly efficient at, you know generally Malinga is going to be full, I don't think it was a bad choice, there was more chance of him getting a boundary that way, than being able to pick the pace of his delivery and smashing him straight, especially as Malinga is accurate with his yorkers.

I don't know, once you commit to that shot you have to line up with the line of the delivery malinga's late swing makes that almost impossible. at least that is the impression that i get.:)

Yes Buttler even before coming out here looked a bit out of form in the match against WI, apart from that 30 he got, he just seems to have lost his touch at the end of the season.
Still been another impressive year for the lad and he's received a England call up, so personally he's done very well.

Ben stokes has tweeted congratulations to Kes and Buttler, saying he hopes they win in the final. Not sure if he's being sarcastic or just wasn't paying attention.

Horizontal bat shot should be easier because of the flat trajectory. Not watching it so didn't know what shot he played exactly, a guy with good hand-eye co-ordination should be able to get bat on fullish Malinga death bowling with practice, deflect it either side of the keeper. It would also give a chance if you get done by a change of pace and you should be able to adjust to swing, even if you don't you should still get a bat on it at least. Obviously you'd still be in a bad position against some deliveries, but that's death overs for you.

It's like a bunt in baseball, except you'd be trying to deflect the ball behind you.

It'd be the best choice. If he's bowling flat, full inswinging yorkers it's the only way to find the boundary.
