Yeah, looking forward to it.

Vinay Kumar has bowled well so far, while Umesh Yadav has been pretty ordinary with the new ball.He is definitely among the quickest of the Indian bowlers but doesn't get any extra bounce or any major movement at all.

Aaron, by most reports, is quicker than Yadav so will be interesting to see if he can push 145kph.

And just as i posted it, he gets one ball to Bounce a bit more which gets the edge of Saxena and is taken by the Keeper.:p

It is fascinating to see India pick Aaron (FC average of 38.48) and Rahul Sharma (43.12) in this fixture. Really shows the effects of the promise of pace and the IPL respectively.

Tbf, they have been picked for ODI's and both have very good List A records.

Aaron bowled consistently 138 to 140 in his first over.

Btw, watching Aakash Chopra bat is almost like watching Paint dry.

And Yadav picks up Kanitkar too.

Has bowled well tbf. And is almost his 9th over in a row.

India's so called fast bowlers bowled no quicker than Bresnan or Broad - so much hype for nothing.

Vinay Kumar needs a good match. He's the single best seamer in the Indian domestic scene, and more accomplished than these much-hyped pacers, but good form seems to desert him at the wrong time. He's a smart bowler, and a skilful bowler, but at a reduced pace. We see caps given to supposedly fast bowlers and mediocre medium-pacers who don't even have pace, but Vinay is often ignored. Rush him in ahead of Sreesanth and Munaf, please!

Fielding's been poor today. Umesh was unlucky to have an edge dropped by Parthiv Patel. To think this is India's second-best wicketkeeper, let alone better than Dhoni.

Flat wickets are no excuse for underperforming bowlers. We see the Aussies on flat decks chip away wickets, if not run through sides, as also other overseas bowlers in the CLT20- with the exception of Dirk Nannes. These bowlers are not performing.

Vinay is bowling very well here. Good line and good movement. At a reduced pace, he's looked more threatening than the supposedly faster youngsters.

Umesh Yadav bowling a very poor line and length- spraying it all around, short enough for the batsman to avoid comfortably. No way Vinay Kumar should lose his place to such a bowler. Varun Aaron was faster, tighter but somehow didn't last long. More importantly, you have two bowlers who struggle in FC cricket (Aaron, Rahul Sharma), as well as slightly average bowlers (Ojha, Yadav), and the only strong contender is Vinay Kumar. Good to see five bowlers, but it's a strange selection.

Did Rajasthan win the Ranji Trophy by virtue of preparing runways and piling on first innings runs?

Yes, in the whole last season they just won two matches, rest of the games were draws and they got points in most of them due to first innings lead

Yep. While too their credit Chahar and Pankaj Singh helped them get those first innings lead bowling well.

Meanwhile the other finalists Baroda had the opposite strategy and prepared low scoring deteriorating tracks while filling the team with spinners and tight bowlers.

Yup, both of them played a big part in their campaign last year
