***Official*** West Indies in England (Pointless 2 T20 series for Sky's benefit)

Actually the more I think about it, the more I'm actually looking forward to this wee mini series. Loving the fact that England have stacked the squad with kids that they want to have a look at, I can't wait to see them in action and see how they get on.

OMM!

Watching 95mph 6'7 Stevey Finn against these Windies no marks could well be the funniest TV viewing for the past 10 years or so!

So err what's the likely team?

Against India it was:

Hales
Kieswetter †
KP
Morgan

Bopara
Fatel
Buttler
Bresnan
Broad
Swann
Dernbach

Players in grey are unavailable. Others in the squad are:

Stokes

Can Borthwick bat?

Batting order pretty much picks itself there, either Finn or Anderson will replace Broad and then the second spinner is the role that's really up for debate.

Patel/Borthwick/Briggs

Dernbach

I'm close to running out of patience with Dernbach, but he makes a lot more sense in T20 and I can see what value he adds if he gets his job right. So they may as well continue his probation for now. I've no real desire to see Jimmy's line and length clattered in a T20 again, and he deserves a rest just as much as KP. I'd rather have more of a look at Finn.

None of those extra spin options really fill me with much confidence, but Briggs is probably the only one who's genuinely impressed me as a bowler before now. Even then, that was only in domestic T20, which is hardly the best indicator you can get for judging bowling merits, and he'd weaken the tail.

If Finn carries on bowling with the pace and control he exhibited yesterday the selectors are in for an almighty headache - in all forms of the game.

Nice problem to have though. The great thing about Finn is he takes it all in and learns quickly. Such a good prospect for the future, just pray he stays injury free. He would walk into every other side in the world yet is down the pecking order with us such is the strength in depth.

Not in Tests. Finn is firmly set as 5th in line for the Test side IMO.

I hope England go to 5 proper bowlers. I'd rather Patel play as a batsman ahead of Ravi 'I can't even manage 100 SR' Bopara. You need proper bowlers and less batting depth in T20.
