Ruckus

International Captain
Marsh is obviously going well at the moment, but do people think if he is to stay in the team for the time being he should be the number 3? What about:

Hughes
Marsh
Watson
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey

Especially if Clarke continues to use Watson as a genuine allrounder option.

but by jeebus clarke needs some runs. only there due to being captain.

All respect to Ponting....giving up the captaincy to play on at # 3 only to be pushed down the order by Marsh after his only Test innings...and given Marsh's sucess, surely this would make most men retire? Otherwise he should bat at 6 which I think would be a great way for him to go out playing his shots :)

Wicket gone down just as Aus were pulling ahead, probably back to even now.

Wonder what's a good score, given that they were put in? Normally you'd be satisfied with making it past the end of the day if you're inserted, but it seems Dilshan has done it because he'll only win if he gets early wickets, rather than thinking he necessarily will on this pitch. Aus could have real problems if they don't make 350.

350 leaves us merely adequately placed IMO.

Looks better against the right-hander, the young speedster.

Wasn't making Hussey play enough for my liking. If he gets his line right, with that away going angle, he should be giving the lefties a lot of trouble. But he'll live and learn, I guess.

Just saw the Aus wickets that went down today. While quite a few were to injudicious strokes, the overall discipline of the Lankan attack ought to be admired. They've kept the batsmen on a tight leash and in a battle of patience, apparently the batsmen have emerged second best.

Still 200 runs up though. Wait for everyone to get 40 odd and get out, you're not winning any matches some time soon.

Shot Haddin!

Keeping in mind we were sent in, I'll take five down at stumps if we get there.
