That's more perverse pleasure than criticism.Sachin Tendulkar
He receives a lot of unfair criticism here. An almost unnatural glee at seeing him fail. Almost seems like he is attacked at every opportunity so as to counter the idiotic worship of some of his fans.
Nah everyone thinks Kallis underated so can't be can he?Kallis
Chaminda Vaas.
Add the sub-continent's best natural player of pace bowling (post 80s), Aravinda de Silva to those names and that's pretty much my list too.Mohinder Amarnath
Aravinda is very highly regarded here, I thought. Doesn't get spoken of as often as some others, but I have hardly ever read a bad word about him on this site.Add the sub-continent's best natural player of pace bowling (post 80s), Aravinda de Silva to those names and that's pretty much my list too.
Although unfairly treated ain't an apt description, but I have a feeling that 'Dizzy' Gillespie and Graham Thorpe aren't rated as highly as they ought to be. And that's a shame, coz both were top-notch cricketers and among the more disciplined performers in their sides.
So, that's five from me - Vaasy, Jimmy, Mad Max, Dizzy and Stumpy!
Good thing you mention this. I've been meaning to start a thread about Praveen Kumar and Copeland - potentially good medium fast bowlers who were written off rather cruelly because they were/are not pleasing enough to the eye.Over the next 12-18 months, Trent Copeland will make this list, as people see him for the first time and decry his lack of pace.
Already happening. Some absolute rubbish being written about him in the tour thread.Aravinda is very highly regarded here, I thought. Doesn't get spoken of as often as some others, but I have hardly ever read a bad word about him on this site.
