Fawad Alam isn't really suited for the shorter formats. His lack of muscle is so infuriating. He gathers all the energy in the world, and you think this ball is going to burst into flames and fall 25 kms out of the park, only to see it land sheepishly inside the inner circle.
haha...brilliant description......for once I agree with you completely :)......he gives such a mighty heave that you are trying to look at the space above the crowd only to see the ball stopping somewhere in the 15 yards catching area around the batsman

and why was he dropped? because he was unfortunate in a T20 semi final I think? where he made 63 and lost his wicket which lead to a Pakistani lost or If I am confusing it, he took a single and gave strike to tail-ender which ended up as a lost.

Ironically,
1) He is not a t20 player at all, muscles or no muscles, he isn't suited at number 6. You could make a case for him as an opener but not at number 6
2) He made 63 with 2-3 sixes in there as well. People just tend to forget things easily.

He is a great test/odi/t20 player if he plays in the top order as an opener or one down player like he does in domestic.
I fear the same is going to happen with Usman Khawaja, who is being misused and is not given a place in top order where he belongs and thus he will soon be out of the team as Marsh is more suitable to 6 than Khawaja anyway that is another story.

what would newbies know about infractions? :p
Hah you think? I am not a newbie at Internet at all Bro, perhaps in CW you could say that but I have been and I am active in several websites including one in which I was an admin, was a game and since I became inactive I just left it.

Malinga must be shaking in his boots thinking about the next series as he comes up against Farhat in such imperious form.

But if Farhat was 'picked' solely on his Domestic endeavors then that would make Alam a much better choice, you have to admit he doesn't have 'Guns' but if you play number 1/2 along with Hafeez in his current form, do you need big muscles?!

What a loser :p

If that would keep damaad Farhat out of the national team, man, then I'm all for it.
yeah man the damaad (farhat) and susar (selector) are ruining the whole team :@

Why not put Azhar at no.3 and let Alam go number 1? makes a bit more sense to me... Other than that bang on... What about our bowlers though?

and that would be in world cup 1999, Final game of their group?
Yeah. Zim have only beaten South Africa twice in their whole history but that defeat in 1999 was probably the most damaging South Africa has ever suffered as it meant they had to face Aus in that semi-final. Probably the most gutting aspect of that game also was that it was a guy who emigrated to South Africa as a boy and who had no time for Zimbabwe who single handily beat South Africa.

If you include the whole team then:

Azhar
Hafeez/Taufeeq
Fawad
Younis
Misbah
Asad/Umar
Adnan
Gul
Wahab
Ajmal
Tanveer Ahmad

I think Tanveer had done decently (despite the grunting) and he can swing the new ball, which is rare for current Pak bowlers. However I would like to see how Cheema or Sadaf open the bowling against a top team in bowling conditions. I am sure they wouldn't be bad with the new ball.

Junaid is a good prospect but needs to spend more time at the domestic level (ideally county cricket) to improve his bowling.

Rehman has to play keeps it tight and can bowl threatening spells when the pitch suits him pretty underrated player imo.
