Even if the pitch was the ****test in the history of sport for bowling spin on, Swann would be a better option that Bopara...and we don't even know what the pitch is like for spin just what people have surmised

There's not much there for the seamer's anymore either. Swann would do better on a pitch with no spin than Ravi would do on a pitch with minimal seam 9 times out 10.

I rate Ravi's meds tbh. Reckon he's improved them a fair bit over the past couple of years; could be a genuine fifth bowling option in ODIs (if he performed with the bat as the England heirarchy seem to think he can, anyway).

I don't think he should be bowling before Swann here, but I do think he's more than worth a bowl.

I don't agree with bowling Bopara ahead of Swann, I'm just sighting the reasons. Lol somebody on Cricinfo said there bowling Bopara because they want to chase a decent target. Somebody else said he's quicker than all of India's bowlers.

He's improved, no doubt. Swings it and touches 80mph, but, as you said, you still have to bowl your premier spinner before your fifth seamer 99/100.
