Fed loses a US Open semi to Novak after having two match points once again!

Novak you are a star!
Loved Novak there, the crowd were such ****s, I was totally in his corner come the end. Feds back-hand looked poor come the end.

Yeah, that was a low act. About as low as blaming your losses in a Grand Slam on "saving strength" or a mysterious "sore back"
Haha yeah, totally the same.

How many grand slams has Federer missed through injury? Incredible durability. Just can't sustain it over five sets against the top players any more, it seems.

Novak definitely does dickish things on and off the court, not going to deny that. But all I'm saying is Fed ain't a saint. Was more than a tinge of sore loser at Wimbledon and the US last year.

He's lost some of his hunger. Just gives up basically when he's down.
Man I hate this ****. This stuff was said last year at the US Open too when Novak came back to win.

Novak Djokovic is the better tennis player right now. In fact, he is the best player in the world by a long way.

Federer not winning has nothing to do with his hunger. He ****ing wanted it today, and he was one shot away from winning. But the better player won.

Fed fans sometimes are so frustrating when he loses.

Federer played great and I guess Djokovic was slightly lucky with some shots on certain crucial points. But overall agree with Jono's comments.

As for Federer losing hunger.. I think he has always played like that.

This is the best Nadal has played at a Slam this year. That's ominous considering he won the French and made the final at Wimbledon.

Murray very frustrated early in this match. Looks like a psycho on court sometimes.

no one is saying that novak isn't better but fed just doesn't try that bit harder these days when his opponent is in the ascendency.
as soon as he lost the 1st match point i knew he'd go on to lose the game.
btw i'm actually a nadal fan but i like federer too.

i believe nadal had a better chance of beating fed in the final so would've liked fed to win this game

Rafa should feel right at home, being so close to the Jersey shore and all.

Novak had ABSOLUTE ascendancy at the start of the 5th set. He was completely on top ,and he even won the first point on Federer's serve.

But the crowd got right behind Federer (to a dickhead level at times, but that's not Fed's fault) and he responded by playing excellent tennis and serving like the champion he is.

He was incredibly hungry. He was yelling at himself at times, spurring himself on. Heaps of "come ons" throughout the match.

It was a very tight match and Novak played the key crucial points better.

If Federer doesn't tighten up on that inside out forehand at 40-30 match point, and gets it in, you won't be questioning his hunger at all.

Honestly just because he was unable to come back after dropping match point doesn't mean he didn't try his guts out.

Murray's serve has held up better than expected, considering his earlier rounds, but he's still losing. Hard to see how this'll be anything but a 3-setter, famous last words, I know.

i don't know these days you can just sense it from his body language that he's going to gone on to lose.

maybe his body language is deceptive...

Fed *facepalm*

That was your best opportunity to say "I'm still here, people?", and you blew it away?

Held match point too, ffs.

Completely agree if anything Djockovic wasn't trying as hard. That shot on the first match point at 40-15 was a shot of hope and desperation and at that point and at that point if looked like Djockovic had given up (what with the crowd being so behind Federer). But he got it perfectly and the rest is history.
