Just watched the highlights, well done Aussies well played but it has to be said this series the SL batsmen have been really poor and have played some of the most ugly shots to get themselves out.
Actually looking forward to the Test series, should make interesting viewing.

Seeing Doherty pick up a bag full of wickets is like seeing Sammy doing the same thing for the West Indies. It's good for the current match but I always remain fearful of future selection decisions based on that one good performance.

Reckon the guy is a more than reasonable OD option to be fair. Pretty comfortably our second best option behind Hauritz in the 50 over stuff.

Shouldn't be judging his abilities as an OD cricketer on what we saw in Test cricket where he was pretty significantly out of his depth cause he doesn't turn it. More than one way to skin a cat in the short form stuff.

Yep, quite content to see him selected in ODIs. Can keep it reasonably tight and pick up a few wickets if batsmen get too excited.

Should cherish the memories of those few days in baggy green though because they are already more than his bowling deserve in the test arena.

Finally we get to bat first.

EDIT: Hastings and Pattinson in. SL selectors bring the lulz - overcast conditions, moisture in the pitch, bowling first... and you drop Kulasekera. Makes perfect sense

it's fair enough tbf - pattinson is in the test squad. why he's in the test squad instead of dougeh... oh well. he's in, it makes sense to give him a game

Why rest Lee? Isn't he going home after this game?

Dougeh being rested may be a good thing, yknow. #readingintoittoomuch

how on earth did no one else (except marsh) see that? bizarre.

Doesn't matter now. Very loose.
