always remember the 2nd one on the list, boy we hammered SA that summer in the tests, absolute hammering.
First test no doubt. But Aus had to chase down 300+ in the second test and South Africa won the rubber, chasing down 340. Gilly was ridiculous in that series, double hundred in the 1st test, rescued Aus first innings in the second test with a run-a-ball 100 and scored 90 odd in the 3rd test

Yes he did. Rolled an ankle.

Was a timeless test. Hutton's 364 match.

Story goes the England 'keeper went in at about 5 or 6 for 700, made 40 or 50 odd and was congratulated by a spectator when he walked back in. He apparently replied "Thanks, I'm always at my best under pressure".

Other story is that Hammond only declared because of Bradman's injury

I echo Bun's sentiments in the other thread. At first I was angry and upset, but after a point I've just started to admire the strength of this English side. Much respect to them for their performance in this series. They've played as a team. I can't help but laugh it off now.

Tbh, I remember during the India-Pak match and the WC final I was praying, asking God for this win and in return I could take a series loss in England. But I didn't know it was going to be this big a loss.

That's a stretch, tbh. Admittedly it's not quite as strong as India's on paper, but any team who can call on the services of Dilshan, Sangakkara, Samaraweera & the two Jayawardenes is libelled by "sub-standard".
Sri Lankan batting basically revolves around Mahela and Sanga and both of them didn't score that many runs in that series and yet other players who don't usually perform that well outside the sub-continent stuck to their tasks and made English bowlers earn every wicket.

Sub-standard might have been a bit too strong a word to use but its a known fact that Sri Lanka aren't that good a test side away from home and yet they put up a seriously good show for a team playing in conditions totally alien to them and its not like England then bowled any differently to what they did during this series or the Ashes but the application of the Sri Lankan batsmen was so much better than the Indian and Australian batsmen.

I don't know who you're confusing me with, but I even congratulated England after the first test match. Really should get your facts checked.

Well. I now have a driving lesson.

Fortunately, unlike BCCI I embrace modern technology and am going to Sky+ the play and watch as if live. See you all in a bit.
