England on top right now.About 70 runs short i think.

Still atleast showed some fight after the start.

The commentators manage to make it sound so reasonable to bring the man on the boundary in to save a single when the batsman isn't even taking it.
Was the **** atempts to stop him taking the single at the end of the over that was the real problem, would have liked at least one more slip though, that edge could easily have gone for 4.

Either well to start with and then ****, or just plain ****. Cannot believe Sreesanth is still playing after he gifted England last match.
The only player I'm concerned about is Ishant to be honest, watch Sree roll us now, simply because he's the only one who looks like he could blow England away with a spell of bowling. Kumar will probably get results and bowl well but for some reason in my mind if he bowls well he'd get 5/100 or some like unlike Sharma who could get a Broadesque return if he pitches it up outside offstump complete with quick wickets.

Certainly an interesting period of play now.

I reckon the scoreline flatters England's bowlers a fair bit - they bowled a lot better in previous matches. For the most part, they kept things tight, but were aided by inept shot selection from the Indian top order.

Once it seemed inevitable that India would be bowled out cheaply, they let India off the hook relatively by resorting to innocuous short-pitched stuff. They could well have bundled out the Indian team for around 150 AO.

Whatever it takes!!!
Swann hasn't bowled well this series. Though there is something to take comfort in the fact that he's bowled poorly rather than him looking out of his depth. Also, don't think hes been helped by the fact that the pitches have by and large favored seamers and there has been little for the spinners.
And the fact that India are bloody good against spin.. even at their worst (which they have been in this series.)

So much for this batting side, 5 innings into the series and still to go past 300. Looks a good track to bat on so we have to be looking at at least a 100 run lead on first innings, preferably a lot more against this attack.

Sreesanth could get the first 5 for **** all but then he'll screw up and gift Broad a century. He cannot stay good for even an innings. He should not be anywhere near the Test team. He has never performed consistently at ANY level, whether it is India, or zonal or Kerala.

Ha, a 100 run lead. England will bat until they get bored, then they will declare.

I think the tactics to Dhoni were fine. What's he going to do, take the game away from England with his one single an over?

Seems I'm in a minority of one though. Also wasn't helped by England bowling pretty badly.
problem with that is when the batsman (Dhoni here) starts finding the boundary now and then..

Ok. I know people cite pitches and catching and whatever but if Sreesanth cannot clean up for Kerala, he clearly has massive deficiencies as a bowler considering they play in the Ranji Trophy Plate League which is a poor standard. Someone like Munaf who does very well in the Super League would always be a better option.

I really think anything under 300 is big advantage England, anything under 350 small advantage England, anything between 350-400 is even and anything above 400 would have put India on top.

I guess England will put up 400+ now, taking the game away from India. Innings defeat more likely than a exciting contest :( .

But haven't we seen funnier things in cricket?
