5th ODI vs England
CW had an unchanged side and were asked to bowl first on a good batting wicket.
The second ball of the match from Phlegm was cut to the boundary by Strauss, but the fourth induced an outside edge from Trescothick for a first-ball duck. Phlegm's day got that much better when his second over snared KP. England were 8/2 after three overs, and limped their way to 35/2 in the 14th.
Strauss and Vaughan were keeping Enlgand in the game with their stoic stand of 105 in 30 overs. Winne broke the deadlock, bowling Strauss for 43 off 100 balls. Vaughan fell for 69 off 105, also off the bowling of Winne, thanks to a terrific diving catch from Dong.
CW continued to chip away when Capone removed Newman, and Winne picked up both Jones and Tremlett in his ninth over. Andrew Flintoff provided resistance with his 39*, but the visitors' seamers gave nothing away in the closing overs. The final partnership between Flintoff and Harmison was 32 off 8.5 overs, as England totalled 174/8.
As in the previous match, Heads' aggressive half century was easily enough to put the match beyond doubt. Flintoff got the breakthrough with the score on 79 when he dismissed Narang. Ten overs later Davies' double strike removed both Heads and Dharan for a disappointing 12 off 33.
By this point, however, CW needed just 53 of 23 overs. Ballich (37* off 33) and Spark (22* off 21) saw there were no mishaps, and they were into the final.
CW won by seven wickets.
