nothing special in the pitch after Bell got out I think. It was playing beautifully. At least if Prior's SR is anything to go by
There was definitely something in the pitch before though. Not a lot, but something. It's hard to extract anything when waterboy and raina are bowling though. But fair enough if it was completely flat for the remainder of the final session

Praveen was causing problems with the new ball, Ishant decided that the best line of attack was to bowl short, wide rubbish for Prior to smash.

Yeah that's it. If you're bowling well, be quite happy with what you'd be getting out of this deck, enough to give you a sniff at least. India have just bowled like ****.

There's more in this deck then there was at Lord's on the last day. India just bowled like an open sewer, that's all.

English would bowl much better and extract any help from the conditions so they shouldn't have any problems winning from here, there is rain predicted of day 5 so from an English PoV using the remaining time well would be pretty important.

Btw think the phase where Dhoni was bowling Raina and Yuvraj in tandem was pretty poor captaincy, obviously Dhoni was trying to catch up with the over-rate (ala Ricky Ponting @ Nagpur 2008) at a time when he could have bowled his better bowlers and searched for wickets which at that point could have turned the game in India's favour.

Morgan's innings was so lol. Absolutely flogged the mediocre stuff but it was so predictable that he wouldn't last an over's worth of deliveries from the new ball.

Great knock by Bell....... I'm glad that i didn't get a chance to watch yesterdays play.. heard bowling was pretty trashy from Indian bowlers.. no surprise there.

I think game will be over by end of today.... India don't think have the stomach to fight it out.

England doing what India have been doing to other teams for last few years.... coming back from tough situations to win the matches.

Morgan and Raina are gonna keep getting these 70's and 80's every now and then which might help them keep their spots in their respective test sides but if were an English or Indian fan I would rather have someone at #6 with better technique and test match temperament.

#6 is a pretty vital position in a test batting line-up because as batsman you gotta be pretty flexible while batting at that position to tackle different scenarios the game might throw at you, don't see either Morgan or Raina adapting to different situations like that, they are bit like a poor man's Marcus North because they would look great when they come off but on most occasions they would just disappoint.

The bowling in the time I was watching was pretty ordinary to say the least. Sharma seemed to be all over the place and Sreesanth wasn't much better. Leg-side deliveries followed up by short and wide outside off-stump isn't going to get many people out, let alone someone who is decent with the willow.

It seemed like India had taken a leaf out of Australia's bowling plans for the past couple of years. With all the talk about the inconsistency of the attack maybe both bowl in a very similar vein.

As for the 'controversy' re: Bell, don't see what the big deal was really. Bell was a bit silly in wandering down the other end so quickly, but I think Dhoni did the right thing.

India's biggest problem yesterday was their inconsistency with the ball. A bloke being recalled after being given out in a controversial manner when he'd already scored 130-odd should be the least of their fan's worries.

Forecast is good for the next 2 days so plenty of time for England. Think anything over 450 is excessive given the conditions and the state the oppo is in.

Try and get a 500 lead by lunch and see what conditions are like overhead. Might not be a bad thing if we are bowled out early today as it may be a bowling day if that is the case.
