*Official* Second Test at Trent Bridge

Bell's playing a different game than everybody else in this Test so far. India badly need a wicket for momentum's sake alone going into Lunch.

Fair enough. That's a matter for you.
I do think you just read the post you quoted and not the one before that and so you may have the impression I'm generally against people criticizing India for not using the UDRS.

That is not the case.

This is the best I have ever seen Ian Bell bat.
Me too. Deserves to make it to 3 figures, the biggest compliment you can pay him is that the best attacking number 3 in the last 20 years Mr Ponting couldn't have played any better.

Could be a game changing innings which Ponting did so well.

Dhoni hasn't plugged the boundaries to Bell quickly enough this morning. How uncharacteristic..

****ing rubbish. Nasser is one of the reasons why the Sky commentary team receive so much praise from the cricketing world. I'll admit Nasser hasn't quite been at his best in this series so far but usually he is a quality commentator who offers some quality thoughts and analyses on the game.
None of this negates the fact that he's a condescending prick when it comes to India and always has been.

Shastri on the other hand, is a biased, antagonzing and vocal prick. Terrible commentator.
Average commentator, I agree, but a prick? Please.

Biggest compliment I can pay him is to actually talk positively about the ****

That, and he's stopping me watching a good doco about Charles Darwin on the History Channel.

It probably is true but cant believe that anyone would take the British press that seriously. Really? Even after whats been going on over the past few months?
If there are people taking Indian media seriously (all posters on this forum obsessed with Indian cricket) then there should be no surprise at English media being taken seriously.

I can understand the BCCI's reservations against the predictive path of Hawk Eye and the accuracy of hot spot. But it is surprising to me how many of these poor decisions could be completely eliminated by just using the television replay. I suspect, with 90% of decisions that are wrong, you can tell from just the replay whether there is inside edge or whether it pitched in line with the stumps. This is really what they system was set up to do - eliminate the howlers. How many people could not ascertain a plumb lbw that isnt given from just the television replay?

Think about it a little. No hawk eye, no hot spot, no snicko and no need to fork up any additional costs as it is essentially the same process that we use for run out referrals at the moment. And yet we aren't using that!

Great shout this.

I think the system would be far better if teams only got one unsuccessful review. Therefore, it will not be used tactically and will be used to eliminate the howler.

Boggles the mind, doesn't it?

Not directed against anyone in particular, but can we take the UDRS discussion to another thread and leave this one to talk about the action please?

Nah, I don't agree.

Or if you're going to make it one review, make it so that you only lose it if it's not a decision that could go either way.
