I can see why HB's upset. We've just re-entered the 80s, and chances are most of the good players from the era will be picked by the time he gets a go. It's the luck of the draw.

This.

I am repeatedly getting to pick when most top players of the era get depleted. Had to be content with Stanley Jackson when Hobbs, Barnes and Faulkner from same era were snapped up, for example :(

I wouldn't complain too much about it though :p It's almost a sado-masochistic draft. You play with the prior knowledge that you might be very restricted at times, but you'll still enjoy making the most of those circumstances. It only makes it more pleasurable if you manage to pluck out a gem when you least expect it.
