The Wheel is Forever
I realize what dominant means. I am simply saying you can't become a dominant team without also playing really quality cricket unless everyone's standard is terrible - I don't know of a single time in Test cricket history where a team has been dominant over any significant period but did not play quality cricket....maybe you can tell me one.You must be reading the same dictionary as Bun, because that's not what dominant means.
A dominant side is one which simply dominates their opponent. Because a side is dominant it doesn't neccessarily have anything to do with the overall quality of the outfit, it just states that they are better than their particular opponent.
The fact that the WI/Australia won a higher percentage of games doesn't neccessarily mean they are a better quality team than India/England now, it could just mean that the opponents they faced were weaker.
I was passing comment on the fact that the standard of cricket we've seen in the last few years is very poor from the top teams, relatively speaking
In any case, I'm not disputing that the quality of cricket played by the best team right now is quite obviously lower than when Australia were in their pomp, and WI before them.
