Only good thing for Gambhir is that it wasn't his leading arm. Scant consolation though.
Yeah, but looking at the way Gambhir bats, he does use his bottom hand a lot too. To me, whenever he drives, cuts or whatever, it seems as if he pushes through with his left hand more. It's not as if he'll be needing to be all that expansive, just need to survive a couple of sessions and he's have done a superb job. Are there any updates on whether he's actually broken anything?

Excellent points.

Haven't heard anything yet.

That summed up Harbhajan's match really. Prior very lucky there.
I had one like that yesterday, except it was a leading edge. Two fielders and the keeper converged on it, any could have got it but they left it to each other. I even got a run and we won a tight match. They weren't very happy.

Broad enjoying himself. Set for a Swann cameo as well if there's time.

Gonna be a long ass 4 sessions for India. If the weather stays like this tomorrow, I think we have a chance of saving this. Gambhir and Tendulkar need to improve their 1st inn performances and VVS will thrive in this kind of situation however he is very poor in the 1st test of the series.

Word is Tendulkar can't bat till 1 hour and 20 minutes into tomorrow. I presume he would come in at 7 if India collapse beforehand though. Going to make it even tougher for India with 3 injured/ill players to survive the match.

Might make it worth declaring at a 450 lead to try and have India in a real mess tonight if Gambhir can't open with Tendulkar unable to bat at 4 etc...

Prior trying to even things up on the injury front by clattering Broad.

50 for Broad, 100 partnership. Hard runs when they mattered - well played both.

England look like they're going for it now. Prior looks like he's in a limited overs match, expect him to get out soon.

Blimey, if England have a good 25 overs at India this evening and take some wickets it could be a right mess.

If Gambhir can't bat this evening then you'd have Dravid opening with Mukund, Laxman at three, Raina at four, Dhoni at five. Harbhajan at six possibly?

I fancy a bit of lords tomorrow, but won't be able to get there till lunch.

Think they will still have tickets? I can't imagine they would sell out

I actually hope Eng get the 20-30 odd runs they want really quickly and declare soon because I'm (stupidly?) optimistic that we might chase 425 from 130-ish overs at 3.25ish
