Cheers. TBH what really incensed me is how useless the police were, I was being chased so I ran across the road so I'd run in front of 2 different cctv cameras, the idiots promptly ran straight past them. I managed to phone the police and got away, they didnt turn up for 6 hours, gave me some spiel about how they'd look at the cctv cameras. I got a letter 6 weeks later saying they'd checked them and found nothing (clearly hadn't checked ****). A couple of weeks after that a police van stopped in the street so 2 officers could fine me for having an open can of beer in public (in fking glasgow of all places, the drunkest city in the UK), I was standing outside my friend's flat with him while he had a cigarette, it was the first can and I hadn't even sipped it yet so I was totally sober. They took 40 mins to lecture me then fined me. I was not happy to say the least.

Have been spat on before, had bottles thrown at me (50 yards from my parent's house once, where my dad walks his dog every day, and they live in a rich suburb too!), of course the random **** this and black that. People are as racist as ever, now it's just understood that it's unacceptable in the public domain.

EDIT: sorry for going off topic
dear me!

I wonder if Dhoni will resort to the 8/1 field at any point? Doubt it will go down to well with the English crowd.
Would be a terrible idea. These two are exceptionally strong on the cut. They should bowl similarly to how they did for most of the first innings.

Personally,I am not against people living in a country, qualifying & then playing.I don't have any problems with the Trotts & Pietersens. But likes of Morgan is what I am afraid of.South Africa is a developed country in terms of Cricket & it wont affect them much even if 4-5 of their good domestic players migrate. They have enough resources & moreover,it depends on individuals. It's their own life & decisions.
But what about Ireland?? They are a developing Cricket nation. They can't afford to loose players like this. This is my concern. And this should be ECB's too.
Er, you realise Morgan is also one of those players who moved to England at a young age and who has qualified through the same route as the likes of Pietersen, Trott and Kieswetter?

The English system is responsible for developing Morgan, not Ireland.

Really sorry to hear about that mate (to the bloke who nearly got stabbed).

TBF, I've had similar experiences myself and I'm white. ****s are everywhere, doesn't matter what race you are.

Racism definitely still exists in this country. I probably live in the most dangerous town for non-whites in the UK, Colchester. Which is Ironic since our uni is more than 50% international.

Not to forget that he is Irish & had played for Ireland in 30+ ODIs.Why did ECB allowed him to go if he was England's property??

So if Sachin doesn't field does that mean he can't bat till 7?

Time for England to really crack on and get 450+ in front asap and then declare before Sachin has been back on the field long enough to bat at 4 if that is the case.

People are kidding themselves if they think Morgan would be the player he is without the experience of playing for England, odis and tests.

If you're unhappy about being fined then don't break the law. Pretty simple solution.

As depressing as the stories of racial mistreatment coming out of USA, UK or Australia are, I think no place on the planet can really take a high ground on that. Many parts of the world, like India, haven't quite been tested enough on that with hardly any one immigrating and settling down in India. If that happens my guess is the treatment the immigrants will receive will be no better, specially considering that the economic resources are quite scarce here. Any society welcomes outsiders so long as they don't feel economically or culturally threatened. In a place like India, people are not really sensitized enough over racism (unlike they are over religious discrimination) as racial mixing hasn't been a huge thing here. Of course, I wish that racial mistreatment ends everywhere soon :)

Too much, digression. Just had to give my two pence. Going back to the test match, this one looks dead and dusted for India.

Yeah in India I've noticed people discriminate even amongst states. Many (usually uneducated) people also look down on Western culture completely.

A good nut from Praveen Kumar there, just probing away at Cook's offstump weakness and it eventually payed off.

I'm getting a bit sick of hearing about the South African born jokes as well. Most of the time people bring this kind of crap up because the opposition is playing well and they want something to complain about.

So Tendulkar has some sort of viral infection and there's a chance he may not be able to field at all today (and it may affect where he can come tomorrow or later today in the batting order).
