Fair enough. I've been channel-hopping and the two genuine play-and-misses I've seen have both been back-of-a-length.

Our session I think. Great effort to only be 1 down in those conditions which favoured the bowlers so much.

England would certainly be happier of the 2 sides, but don't think India would be too dissapointed either.

Have kept it tight(not letting it drift away) and got the wicket of a real crucial batsman .

The spells of ZAK and Co. immediately after lunch would be Crucial with the bowl losing some of it's plastic shine.

It's not a team's session unless they're far enough on top for another wicket to be unimportant. If Strauss nicks off after lunch then we're not in a good place. We've done well to keep India from getting their feet onto our throat, but we're no more than 52-48.

I think it was just a session where England couldn't realistically win the game but could very easily lose it. So they're not exactly miles ahead of India, but they are in a much better position than they were after losing the toss this morning. I think that's enough to call it England's session.

Balanced session. Strauss showed great patience though Praveen had him in trouble on a few occasions. Played Zaheer pretty well by and large, which will be encouraging from an English point of view for the rest of the series. That chance of Trott off Harbhajan could be costly, I feel. Ishant bowled poo, but he takes some time to get into his rhythm, so hopefully he will get better as he bowls a few more overs.

Won't call it England's session, but they have created a chance of making the second session theirs. Now it's India's job to deny that.
