Lord's has insane drainage anyway, and if there's rain about it makes batting a lot more difficult. Rain leading up to the test might even be a bigger problem, the pitch at Lord's seems to die when the groundsman's preparation is hampered.

I think our batters deliberately downplayed to let raina have a tailormade 'get going when the going gets tough' innings. yuvi and raina had an equal opportunity but the latter utilised that. glad to see then we sorting out our no.6 issue.

No Zaheer Khan this innings? You'd think they'd want him to get as much bowling as possible to get into some kind of form.

For seamers it's unprofessional, but for spinners it's unforgiveable.

Anyway, different pitch when Somerset bat, etc. 63/0 from 16 with Levi on 38.

We just need to remember that Strauss batting himself into form doesn't count as Zaheer isn't bowling. Oops he was wicketless first dig.

The best thing from an England point of view is that the back up bowlers won't get chance to find any form anywhere so Sreesanth and Mishra will possibly be sitting out of the first couple of tests stewing over their performance in this match and wondering if their tour is basically over before it has begun.

Well I surely hope the tour is over for Sreesanth, Mishra and Munaf (and have hoped this even before the tour began).

It's never satisfactory starting a Test tour in unfamiliar conditions without more than a single warm up game. Who's to blame? India now have to decide whether to stick with this lot (lolYuvraj) or whether to draft in others. The only upside has been Raina.

England showed last winter how important a good build up can be. You want your players to have plenty of time to get acclimatised; you want them in form; you want them winning; you want them fit. India have concerns on all those fronts.

Well they made that decision before the game had even started, I reckon. Regardless of how this match went, they were always going to play Dhoni, Laxman, Harbhajan and Sharma in the first Test.

A single warm up game is actually more than what India usually get TBH.

Also, stick with which lot? The lineup should be Mukund, Gambhir, Dravid, Tendulkar, Laxman, Raina, Dhoni, Praveen, Harbhajan, Zaheer, Ishant. Aside from Zaheer, no bowler who is playing this game better play the first Test.
