Harper lets Dhoni have it.

I don't get how people are surprised at this at all. Why did everyone suppose Daryl pulled the plug before his alloted final test? Mrs Harper was making a Horlicks of his roses?

I've no love for Harper as such, but something had clearly gone on behind the scenes and it doesn't take Colombo to piece it all together.

Ironically Kettleborough made at least three reversible errors in the final test without comment.
Tbf no mystery requires an entire city to solve it.

I thought he meant Columbus, although it did sound strange for BB to rely on the investigational skills of a man who missed his target by as much as he did.

Dhoni was out of order to try and intimidate the umpire like that....

Yet another reason why we need UDRS.

Not all umpires have the guts to stand up to players like Dhoni.
Dhoni has been only charged of doing that. There's nothing definitive about it. So, I'd say we ought to reserve our judgement. For a guy who just smiles in response to sledges, I think this can't be true. Harper is unnecessarily dramatizing it.

yeah.. players never ran up in intimidatory appeals to umpires before Dhoni.. 8-) Does Viv Richards or Ricky Ponting ring a bell????
Bringing those guys in does not exonerate Dhoni.. two wrongs do not make a right and all that.

Dhoni shouldn't have been censured for his post-game comments, which people took it to a lolworthy extreme. It was funny how worked up people were getting.

The on field comment, if true, should definitely be censured. I wonder if he reported that comment to the match referee right away and someone can back him on that?

Agree with you on both counts

Thought I was the only one who thought that the post match comment wasn't a big deal. It was meant to be a tongue-in-cheek comment that Dhoni is known for. Although it turned out to be mildly offensive. Posters on CW were taking it to extremes.

I will be more concerned about the on-field comment if it is true. Have always hated use of intimidation or bullying in cricket. But I don't believe this would've happened considering Dhoni never sledges even with comical comments, let alone resorting to intimidation.

No what's actually lolworthy is people thinking it's okay for an international captain to come out and say what he did. I'm glad these further comments have come to light though to show Dhoni for what he really is.
