Yeah, was just saying that the injury has given him a nice opportunity to play at Lord's before a lot of other batsmen who've been around the setup for a while. On the flip-side, he also knows that no matter how well he does, Sehwag walks straight back in as soon as he is fit.Mukund was not in competition with kohli or badrinath... he and vijay was the one fighting for the third openers choice and it was clear after 2 test who was going to take it.
If he does well, and Gambhir has a poor series, could he find a way in?Yeah, was just saying that the injury has given him a nice opportunity to play at Lord's before a lot of other batsmen who've been around the setup for a while. Unlikely IMO. Sehwag and Gambhir are a great pairing and deserve to be backed even if they have a bad series. Murali Vijay did well filling in for Gambhir last year and I was grumbling a bit after Gambhir came in and struggled for form in his first few matches, but overall they have shown more than enough class to be backed for a good amount of time.If he does well, and Gambhir has a poor series, could he find a way in?
things as it is after first test sehwag if he is fully fit and gambir will be opening for India even if mukund score a big hundred in the first test. as for he replacing any of the two in the series i would feel either will have to have a very poor run after the third match say with an avg may be less than 15-20 for him to get back his placeIf he does well, and Gambhir has a poor series, could he find a way in?
Not even Australia's selectors would do that.If he does well, and Gambhir has a poor series, could he find a way in?
I don't really think there is a batsman who can play an on-song, new-balled Praveen with full comfort. But I guess we will see.Trott'll be the last batsman to have problems with Praveen.

Presuming Mukund scores does really well in the first test and Raina fails ,Sehwag won't be the worst option at number 6 for this series only.things as it is after first test sehwag if he is fully fit and gambir will be opening for India even if mukund score a big hundred in the first test. as for he replacing any of the two in the series i would feel either will have to have a very poor run after the third match say with an avg may be less than 15-20 for him to get back his place
Praveen is a new ball specialist. If he cannot trouble the top three, he'll have to be dropped sharpish.Seriously, Trott and Cook will play Kumar with no worries at all. I can see him troubling Strauss, but I'd fancy my chances of troubling him currently.
I'd say he's most likely to trouble Cook of the three. Trott bats out of his crease to bowlers of Praveen's pace, and in any case he's much more vulnerable to a shorter length than Praveen can realistically bowl. Strauss leaves too well to really be troubled unless Praveen comes around the wicket.Seriously, Trott and Cook will play Kumar with no worries at all. I can see him troubling Strauss, but I'd fancy my chances of troubling him currently.
Doesn't mean much. Every chance for it to be completely different next week. Or this week, really.AccuWeather.com - United Kingdom | London Weather Forecast
