What a farce the Khawaja signing. This situation is made even more funnier because Khawaja is a terrible Twenty20 player IMO.

heh, reckon this is less about him managing his workload and more about not giving a crap about T20. His choice, he's pretty average as a T20 player anyway.

Which is a shame because if there's one bloke who really benefits from lots of work it's Johnson and the best-performed blokes in the Aussie set-up and Shield last year also play T20. I've said on CW before, reckon having a big gap in your calendar is tougher to adjust to than playing multiple formats.

He won't be having a significant break from cricket though. It's merely a game or two shoved in between tours

Really? His T20I record is pretty good IIRC.

I reckon that this - as well as any similar announcements by Clarke (possible) or Watson (perhaps not so likely) - are a bit moot, tbh. The schedule doesn't exactly leave a lot of room for this stuff.
