Big Brad completely butchered that. Massive numbers to his left

Edit: trying to figure out how Sonny Bill Williams won't dominate the World Cup tbh.

What a great advertisement for Rugby. Kudos to both teams there for chancing their arms in such a big game.

And the Crusaders. Wonderful performance not playing at home all year. Happy for the Reds bit sad for Christchurch. Would have been a great thing at such a tough time.

Such a 50/50 game, really looked like it could have went either way through the whole match.

Did Thorne kook it? Yes imo.

Good final, great win for the Reds. Doubt the Crusaders will be happy with their performance with lots of errors, particularly after playing so well at Cape Town last week. Genia's try must be one of the best of the season for an individual effort, and in the end proved the deciding factor. Have to say that McCaw seemed strangely quiet and having watched Pocock in some of the Force's matches I hope he steps up in a black jersey.

5 line outs against the throw for the Reds - None for the Crusaders...genuinely on the edge of my seat during the last minute. Thought the final pass was flat.

Having to play every match away from AMI Stadium they travelled approximately 96,000km throughout the season (according to the NZ Herald today), so to even make the final with that disadvantage was a superb effort. Would've liked to have seen them take out the title but with the performances from the Reds this year, and indeed a natural disaster of their own to contend with, they fully deserve their victory.

It certainly seemed as though Corey Flynn was doing his best to ruin any chance of him being named in the AB squad tomorrow...the lineout should've been one of the Crusaders stronger areas and it turned into a complete liability.

Congrats to the Reds. Only been flicking over between breaks in the Eng/SL ODI, but looked a good game of rugby.

Would've been nice to see Canterbury win it after the quake, but it was the Reds' year.

Daniel Carter pretty much dominated that first half, played bloody well and made Quade Cooper look every bit of a fool.

Well deserved title to the Reds. What a super team they are.

The Crusaders were to be frank very very very disappointing. So many errors by them, and everytime they had the ball, you knew after a few phases that they'd cough it up.

Think they'll have some pretty great match ups in the not too distant future.

Further thoughts on the game =

Gilford has poor decision making - I hope he doesn't get into the ABs again for some time.
Maitland needed better hands on his try opportunity
Ellis' box kick from inside his own 22 that went 30 metres down the middle of the field would never have been done in the 1980s. And with good reason it resulted in a try to the reds.

Thought the defence was up pretty flat on Cooper making the pass the only option - but yes DC was terrific in the first half.
