Again?bun's escaping this madness.
Again?bun's escaping this madness.
Interesting to note that he's started referring to himself in the third person - unless he just sees Bun as one of many different personas he has and he's going to let someone else chip in on the matter.Again?
Yeah, but I wonder who as?Keep quoting him he'll come back soon enough
remember what I told youInteresting to note that he's started referring to himself in the third person - unless he just sees Bun as one of many different personas he has and he's going to let someone else chip in on the matter.
I don't actuallyremember what I told you
Yeah I'm sure he'll be back in a blaze of glory in no time.Keep quoting him he'll come back soon enough
Was an oversight on my part. Have posted before saying I thought he was a very good bowler tbh.jokes apart ....why you left out srinath from his list ?????
Lol.. In India maybe. Hate to break the news to you mate,Shouldn't be taking the bait ,but how do they have to be definitively better than him for him to be not a modern great?
Besides i would say Ishant and Prasad are better than him and could make a contention for Irfan too among various others.
Virendra Sehwag(as a bowler alone) ,let alone Pragyan Ojha , Venkatpathy Raju or Rajesh Chauhan even have a less competition to be a modern day Australian great
What's your point with this? How does it matter whether they play In the SC or outside ,(though they would still be better than most except one,2 or maybe 3 modern australian spinners everywhere).Lol.. In India maybe. Hate to break the news to you mate,
Occasionally people play outside the subcontinent. What are those fellas records like outside the subcontinent?
I would suggest you should first read this thread only from the start to see who has been hyped up more in it from the beginning, while people were calling Ishant.Praveen and Sreesanth Rubbish or Bangladesh standard. And while those bowlers may or may not be better than Broad, the point is if he hailed from Mohali there'd be that much hype over him it would be ridiculous. He's a middling test bowler at best, my point is those from India who see fit to bag him can't really name a phalanx of seam bowlers from their own neck of the woods who are clearly better than him.
I think we're at cross purposes. What's your point with this? How does it matter whether they play In the SC or outside ,(though they would still be better than most except one,2 or maybe 3 modern australian spinners everywhere).
The answer to these questions will contain a very important part of the seamers discussion too. Let's see which way you go now.

And if you want can give you links to more such threads in a different time period too ,where the criticism was even harsher.
Need to be balanced both ways. And lol @ suggesting that Indian seamers are too hyped up.
Depends how you define it.I think we're at cross purposes.
I'm not saying Broad is a modern great. I'm saying if he was Indian he'd be a modern great seamer by their generally pop gun standards.
You didn't answer why only away from India or outside SC performances should count? As for the spinning issue, I disagree with you as to those bowlers being loads better than some Australian spinners of the past two decades, especially away from India. Though I would certainly concede they are a lot better than anyone we've had since the merry-go-round started post-Warne.
If he was playing in india on placid tracks he would be averaging 40 ,Let alone being called a great,he could never makeit.,I think we're at cross purposes.

My exclusion is a travesty.
Gonna troll so bad.
Yeah they would be. But I've not suggested the Australian spinners are loads better or on a par with them. There have been suggestions Broad wouldn't make India's test team and I'm suggesting if he was Indian you'd struggle to name five seamers from India who are clearly better than him from the past 20 years, let alone in their current test team.Depends how you define it.
If you consider the likes of Pathan,Sreesanth ,Prasad to be modern day great seamers or greats (or whatever you were calling them earlier) then yes could perhaps say Broad would be up there too. But i would disagree with both.
But it's not as if anybody is hardly overrating them let alone the others who may be better than them.
You didn't answer why only away from India or outside SC performances should count?
(Though as i said they would be better in all conditions except perhaps 2 or 3 australian spinner since the 1990's)
So going by your own standards which you set surely they all would be modern day great australian spinners, won't they?
Actually there is a better case for Venkatpathy Raju to be a great australian spinner since the days of Benaud let alone modern day going by the low australian broomstick spin standards ,if we follow your skewed logic.
It works both ways ,or doesn't at all senor.
That's so unfair.
Though he has been doing the same since the World cup or before with Indian fans. Getting a bit boring and repetitive now
