Scorecard Draft II

Last time we kept going there again and again and ended up stuck there till someone decided to pick a lesser player to help get out from that era.

Those who don't have to pick from there also end up being helped while some have to pick 3/4 players from there who are pretty unknown.
Also last time due to being stuck there for a time some time periods in 1900's got ignored to an extent.

Whatever it takes!!!
in too.. and support some sorta rule to get us out of the black hole that the pre 1900 era became for us in the last draft..

How did you end up getting stuck in the 19th century?

Was the DeLorean playing up again?

In. Good stuff, Himmanv!

Also in favour of randomising alternate rounds and no restrictions at all on the time periods. Fine with the 10 Test rule. In favour of a 12 hours per pick time frame, and participants who don't end up picking when its their turn should mandatorily end up at the end of that particular round (and the next, if the next round is a mirror image round), rather than pick whenever they turn up. It wasn't pleasant last time when there doubts on the intentions of latecomers, would rather we avoid that sort of controversy by having this rule in place.

I'd want to see alternate round randomisation, to prevent a situation where a participant suffers more than the others just for having to (almost) always pick after another specific participant who's particularly good at deliberately excluding players with his scorecard selections. IMO we'll see the scorecard exclusions used as a tactic a lot more this time round now that we've got a hang of the game. Plus true randomisation (with the NUFAN fix) adds to the fun because you never know which period you'll have to select from next!

Also in favour of letting as many people in as possible. I loved that we had 18 (?) participants last time.

EDIT: Also in favour of letting Bradman stay.

A good point, actually. NUFAN fix?

Yeah, last year NUFAN pointed out a fatal flaw in going with a simple snake in this draft, wherein a player with two consecutive picks could set up a selection for himself on his second go. He later suggested a fix for it in post #185. Read on from about this post when we were discussing whether or not to randomise alternate rounds - http://www.cricketweb.net/forum/cricket-chat/47447-scorecard-draft-5.html#post2274652

All of this. All of it.

Nah, if we're not snaking then we can have more than 12...
Loved my team from the first one..

True. The 12 participants idea came in because I planned it to be a snaking order. I could always randomize alternate rounds if thats what people prefer.

In, but can we clarify the 1900 rules - is it they can't have played any games before 1900 or they can't have played all their games before 1900?
Updated the rules. I think that should give us a fair leeway to pick a few 1890/1900 greats.

Using this as a randomizer: RANDOM.ORG - List Randomizer

Ok, just going to start this now. Any number of participants can join and when they do come in they get added to the bottom. Going to use the NUFAN fix alternate round randomizing technique. No Bradman, no more changes. Edited my first post one more time. Time to start.
