I like that this page is completely unrelated to the rest of the thread. Can we keep it that way for just this page, at least?

I feel I've achieved a lot here.

He was axed last summer, no one really took his place then.
Besides if anyone going to get dropped, bell should be the first one.

Really hate to agree with Bun, particularly with his "biased englishmen" nonsense, but yes Kp has to be axed 2 years @23 is not form it's a major part of his career, I think it's under 30 for 3 years. Bell also needs to be dropped, not sure what that's got to do with KP.

He was replaced with the same old rubbish last year. All very well saying we've nowt to replace them with, whilst both of them (and Bopara) stink up our squad, who is being giving a chance to replace them. We've got four years 'til the next World Cup, give Taylor, Hildreth, Buttler, Davies actually anyone else who is doing alright a chance, if they can't reach the heady heights of an average in the 20s or early 30s get rid, then go back to Kp and Bell.

There's not one person here that ridiculed Bun's position, who actually made an argument against Taylor playing, rather playing the poster not the post. Funny gifs, ha-ha, let's not talk about Kevin.

The thing is both of these guys are being kept in for the same reasons as Prior, because they're doing alright in Tests, really no reason otherwise.

Who would be the prospective replacements for Bell and KP?

I voted no ,because of the recent form he has shown in tests. Perhaps deserves a one last chance.

Am I on Ignore, actually fair enough, if I am, I tend to treat you like ****, but as I said there are a few, and it's not a high plateau to reach.

Is there a ignore function? I really need to locate if there is one.

Go to User CP and Edit Ignore list from the left side column.

Got a couple of people there already:ph34r: though that does not work if someone else quotes them.

Got no-one on ignore atm, which is pretty good for me here, will no doubt change soon.

Trying to drag it on subject, Bun is very indo-centric, (is that a phrase?), but as in this thread he brings up some decent points, other Indian fan-girls have really never entertained, so the ignore button is used. Yet most are banned now.

I'm much more likely to put Gimp on ignore, TBH.

Well out of those you've mentioned, Taylor is the only one worthy of a place on stats and form but my main concern with him, is the balance of the side, having Cook, Trott and Taylor in the top 4 is asking for trouble imo and it would be best to see what he can do if Trott is rested.
Buttler's really struggled for form this year and has only played 19 or so List A games, so has very little experience. Davies is a opener, who is also in a run of poor form. I personally, don't think Hildreth's a very good List A player, he's a better first class player imo.
The trouble England have got, regarding one day cricket, is there is no one, in that 23-25 age group, waiting and ready and pushing, those in the England team for their places. This goes not only for batting but also for seamers, where's the next, really good up and coming one day opening bowler or death bowler, there isn't many around.
As far as KP, when he got injured before the Ashes in 2009, that's when his form really dipped, and his 2009 and 2010, were really poor, this year he's improved to averaging 30 but that's still not good enough for a player as good as him.
Since his form has improved, in Tests during the Ashes and after, he looks in really good touch and he just needs, to remember how to put a one day innings together because we all know he can do it and has done it, plenty of times before.
He always performs well in T20, which gives you the feeling, it's a matter of time and in the last 2 Odi's, which is all that's been played, since the WC, he looks like a batsmen in great form, who just needs a bit of luck to go his way.
Obviously, if he hasn't produced by the end of this series, he will be under greater scrutiny, along with a couple of other players.

To me Kevin has looked like he has for the last four years in this form, looks brilliant then plays a foolish shot, which is generally explained away by other batsmen not performing quickly enough. I want KP to just play Test and T20, these seem to be the games he's happy with, he seems confused in the in-between format now.

Buttler and Hildreth are my biased picks, and as I say they're just names I threw out there, Hales and plenty of others I'm sure are available. Has I say if other blokes aren't giving chances they can't perform.

Not sure that Buttler has had a poor season in this form, which is what we're talking about, and for the fast-scoring number 6 he looks a good bet.
