Thats just awesome. Bravo to the selectors for picking Wade as a batsman, so they bloody well should after his summer, in which he AGAIN did damn well with the bat. Champion player in the making, absolute champion.

Can't wait for Copeland to be written off (by the selectors) because of his results in OD cricket.
Yeah, I'm not too fussed about players playing one day cricket based on Shield performances other than for the fact that they get written off as higher-level game failures if they don't perform well in them and aren't considered for Tests. Brett Dorey springs to mind immediately.

Hmmmm, I think Dorey was written off due to his injury history rather than any worries about his bowling. Hasn't played anywhere near a full season in 5 years.

Nothing fishy about it, in my view.

Exactly what I thought. However, I don't think it's down to any form of ill-will towards the player, I think it's entirely down to stupidity. The bowler has a List A average of 69. The surprise will be if he does anything useful at all.

Quietly hoping for an injury to Beer or Crayfish this week, so that O'Keefe can claim his rightful place in the longer matches.

Peter Siddle replacing James Faulkner for the four dayers and Big John replacing him for the one dayers. Bit of a shame about Faulkner, I've only seen him bowl once and I thought he looks very good.

So the four day attack will be the two test bowlers and the rest of the seamers will be joggling each other for a shot. Shame that the squad is looking less 'newbie' by the day.

yeah it's looking more and more like an australian A squad by the day. of course it's no surprise to see the two test bowlers are the favourite sons in Hilf and Siddle when Dougeh should be there.

Such a terrible selection to have Butterworth playing in the one-dayers. Very interested to see how Lyon bowls versus O'Keefe.

With the way our selectors work, he'll probably be in test reckoning by the time Krazy and Beer have done their worst against Sri Lanka and Sth Africa.

That will just make it about the right time for him to debuted against India. :-O

So the most impressive of Aus were Lyon and Maddinson:dry:. They are not even in the running for Sri Lanka.

Zimbabwe looks like they are playing a pretty strong squad it looks like they are almost at full strength. The noticeable one that I don't see is Creamer.
