Eh, not really. There's definitely a wide spectrum of opinions on exactly how it should be applied.
Most people here agree that it's better than not using any technology to aid umpiring, but what you've said is a bit like saying that everyone agrees on the New Zealand batting order because they don't think Chris Martin should be in the top 6.
And here we are with the analogies again.
This is actually a good point. I hadn't thought much about it.It's obviously a stupid sentiment, but it's not an overreaction. I don't get why people don't see how damaging it is for one nation to refuse and alter the playing conditions to this extent. Such a harmful precedent to set even if you don't think UDRS is a big deal.
Oh right. Because you say it is. That's your reason why these things are overreactions huh.
****, you think everything is an overreaction and nothing matters. Let's all stay calm and remove the passion out of everything hey?
Give me a ****ing break.
No UDRS in itself is a travesty, but it also sets a damaging precedent. You wouldn't see this of course, because you think people getting upset by BCCI is...yep, an overreaction
And Dhoni's comments? disgrace mate. That's not an overreaction. It's his ****y team and board that won't let us use UDRS and then he comes out and whinges about umpiring? What a ****ing joke! You can **** off calling that an overreaction from me, because that's how I feel, and if you can't see why then you're ****ing ******** and incapable of empathy.
And I guess you'll consider this post an overreaction too.
No offense, I wonder how you manage in real life if you can't handle a bit of disagreement.
*prepares for another rant*
Can only speak for myself TBF. Surely it's possible to make your point without responding like "you are ****ing ******** and incapable of empathy" (****ed if I know what empathy has to do with any of this) if I think you are overreacting. Certainly doesn't help to make your point any clearer.
Because obviously that is how I react to everyone who disagrees with me?!
In missing my point you have proved my point, so thank you
Indeed. Whether the outrage is justified or not is another issue but that doesn't mean one loses the right to call an overreaction an overreaction. And as for that article about ostracizing India from the game for not agreeing to UDRS, it's the very definition of overreaction.
Nah. Whether Dhoni gets fined or not is completely irrelevant. It was a justified reaction from me in that that's how much it wound me up.Why don't we wait and see whether he actually gets fined (I'd like to see the context behind those comments first BTW)? If he doesn't, then clearly the people in charge agree with me that it's not a big deal. People have made much worse comments and not been fined for them (was Ponting fined for his rant to Aleem Dar in Brisbane?). It's about applying a consistent standard. How strongly you care about it doesn't come into it. I'm sorry if that sounds insensitive.
BTW, I agree those were stupid, classless comments. Doesn't make him an obnoxious, ignorant wanker, though.
And as for that article about ostracizing India from the game for not agreeing to UDRS, it's the very definition of overreaction.
WTF? I never told you how much you should care about it. I specifically mentioned that article, which is ridiculous. As Teja said, whether or not you think BCCI's stance is justified, an overreaction is an overreaction, period.Nah. Whether Dhoni gets fined or not is completely irrelevant. It was a justified reaction from me in that that's how much it wound me up.
For months you've been on your "UDRS is no big deal" high horse acting like some moral authority telling the rest of us how we should feel. It's ****ing annoying. Nowhere have I told you you should care more so don't tell me I should care less.
You're constantly playing the overreaction card. Pisses me off.WTF? I never told you how much you should care about it. I specifically mentioned that article, which is ridiculous. As Teja said, whether or not you think BCCI's stance is justified, an overreaction is an overreaction, period.
Fair enough about Dhoni, I guess. I agree they are poor comments, but hardly anything to fine him over. Surely I'm allowed to say that without offending someone?
