Soderling is so one-dimensional. Just is clueless when he's not hitting winners off both wings.

To his credit he often is smacking winners but when he doesn't its not great to watch. Becomes very error-prone.

Soderling takes the third.

Newcombe cheering on Soderling's errors is a new low for Australian tennis coverage.

Soder takes the fourth. On top now.

Hewitts going to have to turn it around somehow because if he keeps doing what he's doing he'll be beat. Mainly because Soderlings backhand is now in full force.

Hewitt breaks and then broken.

Been such a fascinating match in that Soderling changed up a few things in a simple way. Started bunting back returns from the forehand wing, and also pulled back a bit rather than going for broke. He actually learned that there's no point shortening points everytime if it just results in an error!

Hewitt not slicing enough for mine.

Soderling serving first in the 3rd, 4th and 5th set was Hewit's down fall as Hewitt couldn't serve to stay in the set every time at 5-6 and 4-5.

That is such an impressive win from Soderling. He truly surprised me. Almost immediately after I called him one-dimensional he changed his game! Good on him.

Good effort by Hewitt. He's a dick but he's got heart.

Also hopefully this means less of John Newcombe cheering when opponents make errors. Obviously Tomic is left but Newcombe generally saves it for Hewitt matches.

Gajdosova is so awesome to watch. Such clean hitting.

Really has potential to eventually become the #1 Aussie womens player. Especially with Stosur's mental fragility.

Yeah, I noticed that. I love Soderling's "haters gonna hate" attitude, you can even see it in his celebrations.

Tomic what a win! I liked this kid when I first saw him at 16, however later he started disappointing me, showing a lack of interest in the game and performing really poorly outside grand slams. But today all be it against a sick Soderling was simply awesome, best I've seen him play, hopefully it's not just a one off because he was absolutely terrible against Andreev.
