Would be amazing if Date could pull this off.

Just saw Devvarman is in the 2nd round, first time he's passed a Slam first round, I think. He has Youzhny next.

Fantastic first set from the 40-year-old, but Williams has fought back amazingly well.

Truly ridiculous how the William sisters do this so often.

1-5 to 5-5, saving three or four set points.

Poor Date-Krum, has played some damn good tennis. But on set point Williams brought the goods.

Fabulous tennis. Date-Krum played amazing tennis serving to stay in the set, especially when set point down herself.

Possibly the best set of women's tennis I've seen - definitely the best in a long time.

Commentators saying in the 38 years of him following Wimbledon he's never seen a better set of women's tennis :-O

The Serena-Dementieva match a couple of years back was pretty good. This was incredible though, in terms of the twists and turns, and the feel-good story of a 40-year old giving a five-time Champion everything she could handle. Her game is such a throwback.

Key point set I reckon. Purely from a set perspective it was amazing.

I was saying the same thing about the Federer vs. Novak 1st set in this year's French semi. Sometimes one set can just have everything.

Fourth set was better in the Federer-Novak match from a quality point of view IMO. In the final, the first set was pretty much decisive (from Federer's side, not Nadal's).
